Wondering what style of jeans to wear in 2021? In this post, I’ll outline the denim styles that are hot in 2021.

With so many of us working from home, a great pair of jeans is more important than ever! Versatile and comfortable, you can dress jeans up with a classy blouse or smart blazer or dress them down with a soft sweater or knit top.
No matter what is trending in denim, stay true to what you like. The most important thing is that your clothes represent who you are and make you feel great about yourself!

Don’t worry ladies, your skinny jeans are still stylish in 2021 and, in spite of some fashion predictions, they do seem to be here for at least another season. Wear your Spring 2021 skinny jeans with a slim-fitting top and long cardigan, with a slim-fitting sweater and a long coat, or dress them up with a front-tucked blouse and pumps. Lexi Jeans by J. McLaughlin or the Watson Jeans in luxurious red velvet are great choices. I’m also a big fan of Levi’s as you’ll see in this post. These Levi’s 721 High Rise Skinny Jeans are perfect this year and the price is right, too!
Boot cut jeans are back in a big way! Boot cut jeans are flattering, especially for curvy women, highlighting your waist and lengthening your legs. Look for these in a Western cut or worn long, all the way to the floor. Looking for a great boot cut jean? Try these Levi’s classics:
- Levi’s Classic Boot Cut Jeans
- Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Gold Label Totally Shaping Boot Cut Jeans
Like boot cut jeans, straight cut jeans universally flattering. The straight cut creates a long visual line, which makes you look tall and slim. The raw hem is trending for Fall 2020 and will continue to be popular into 2021. These Coley Jeans from J. McLaughlin are definitely on my list as are these Free People Maggie Straight Leg Jeans!
Cargo pants seem to come back every couple of years. But these are not the Jennifer Aniston cargo pants of the 1990s. Instead, the 2021 styles will have a high waist with a medium or dark wash denim. I didn’t think I was going to like this trend at first, but then I saw these cool High Waist Cargo Jeans on Amazon and definitely changed my mind.
Hello 1980s! Denim in 2021 will feature a wide array of patterns such as camouflage or leopard print. For me, the pattern will need to be subtle, but there are plenty of options for everyone! Check out the Baxter Safari Jeans from J. McLaughlin if you like a leopard print, or the softer Lexi Jeans in Mini Naja for a slightly less conspicuous look. If you’re looking for something really special, check out these snake print Ella Moss Skinny Jeans.
Boyfriend jeans showed up in 2020 and are still going strong in 2021. Boyfriend jeans in 2021 are worn high waisted and are most popular in standard length or 7/8 length. For an edgy look, buy them extra long (to the floor) and roll them to 7/8 length. Wear boyfriend jeans with cropped shirts or sweaters. These Rag & Bone Boyfriend Jeans are perfect!
I’d be remiss not to mention Loose and Flared Jeans. I’m seeing this all over Instagram! Neither are flattering on me, however they are also stylish for 2021 and can add a lot of visual interest to your outfit. Check out this hot pair of flared jeans from 7 For All Mankind.
