For people trying to lose weight, nutritionists consistently advise being prepared with a supply prepared snacks on hand. This way, you’re covered and don’t end up making bad decisions when a craving hits.

Most lists of healthy or low carb keto snacks that you’ll find on the internet are homemade versions. And, I agree, homemade is best! But for those of us who are busy competing responsibilities, some pre-packaged snacks really help! My list of 30 low carb things you can eat when you’re craving a snack includes both homemade and pre-packaged options.

Savory Low-carb Keto Snacks

Turkey Roll-ups

Turkey roll-ups are a great choice. To make these, use deli turkey, a slice of cheese and your preferred spread (I like sugar-free Mayonnaise) and roll it into a tube shape. You’ll be amazed how much the flavor of this will remind you of a turkey sandwich. Very satisfying!

Low Carb Wraps

Low carb wraps, such as KetoThin or Norigami Wraps, are a wonderful way to curb a snack craving. Use high protein, low carb fillings such as deli meat, tuna fish or egg salad. Again, this will remind you of a sandwich which is a much welcomed treat if you’ve adopted a low carb eating plan.

Parm Crisps

Parm Crisps are an enjoyable treat that provides a salty crunch much like potato chips but without all the carbs. These are so good that it’s hard to believe you can work them into your healthy eating plan. Try Parm Crisps in a variety of flavors including original, cheddar, sour cream and onion, jalapeno, pizza and sesame.

Cheddar or Parmesan Cheese Crisps

Cheddar or Parmesan crisps are also something you can make at home. Place cheddar cheese or parmesan slices on a baking sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for approximately 30 minutes. You’ll know they are done when they look like crispy chips. Delish!

Vegetables and Hummus

Vegetables and Hummus are a delicious and satisfying snack with lots of options. I particularly like bell pepper or cucumber slices dipped in hummus. Celery or baby carrots also work well. These keep well in your refrigerator too, so they are very convenient.

Yogurt and Vegetables

Yogurt and Vegetables are also a delightful treat and have the added benefit of containing probiotics. Just be sure to use a yogurt that is not sweetened. Cucumber, celery, bell pepper and baby carrots work just as well here.

Boiled Eggs

Boiled eggs make a satisfying healthy snack that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates. Sprinkle your boiled eggs with salt, or add mayonnaise for egg salad. You wouldn’t believe how many boiled eggs I eat in a week. It seems to be catching on. I’ve seen many promotions recently for the “boiled egg diet.”

Deviled Eggs

If you’re feeling a little fancier, deviled eggs are also a good option. It’s best to make these at home so that you have control of the ingredients. To make deviled eggs, slice boiled eggs in half and scoop out the yolks into a bowl. Mix the yolks well with a little mayonnaise and mustard. Scoop the mixture back into the egg white halves and top with salt, pepper and a dash of paprika.

Lettuce Wraps

Lettuce Wraps offer a variety of options with no added carbohydrates from bread. You probably see a recurring theme in this post – using interesting things as a bread substitute. Tasty options for lettuce wraps include BLT, deli meat with cheese; tuna salad; egg salad or, chicken salad. Do you have other options you like for lettuce wraps? Share in the comments below!

Stuffed Avocado

Stuffed Avocado is similar to lettuce in that it can serve as an effective delivery system for other items such as tuna or chicken salad. A bonus of avocado is that it is also loaded with healthy fats and fiber!

Kale Chips

Hold your judgment until you try these, folks. Kale Chips are a satisfying crunchy snack to keep on hand. As added benefits, kale is a superfood and these snacks are available in divine flavors such as Zesty Nacho, Kool Ranch and Mango Habanero.

I’ve been a big fan of cottage cheese since I was a kid. Cottage Cheese with berries is loaded in protein and healthy fat and is sure to keep your hunger at bay. It’s time to give this old classic a new try!

Celery with Peanut Butter

Celery with Peanut butter makes a terrific afternoon snack between lunch and dinner. Celery is one of those vegetables that actually takes more calories to digest than it contains. And, peanut butter is chock full of protein and healthy fat. Just be sure to get sugar-free peanut butter.

People’s Choice Beef Jerky

People’s Choice Beef Jerky is an old fashioned treat that never gets old. Contrary to popular belief, many jerky brands actually contain sugar. However, the People’s Choice brand is sugar free and zero carb. The high protein in this snack will satiate you for a long time.

Stuffed Tomato

Tomatoes make a great delivery system just like lettuce wraps and avocado. Try tomato halves stuffed with tuna or chicken salad for a snack that truly keeps your hunger at bay.

String Cheese

String cheese comes in handy individually wrapped packages that are easy snacks to carry with you for short periods of time. Back in the 80s and 90s, we thought cheese was off limits for those trying to lose weight because of the high fat content. But, now we know that fat does not actually make you fat. Read my post, 5 Myths from the Last 30 Years About Health and Weightloss, on this subject.

Moon Cheese

Moon Cheese sounds (and looks) a little strange. But, don’t cross this tasty savory treat off your list until you’ve tried it. Moon Cheese is an all natural, crunchy snack that is high in protein and healthy fat and low in carbs. Try Moon Cheese in Cheddar, Gouda, Pepper Jack, Bacon Cheddar and Garlic Parmesan.

Emerald 100 Calorie Nut Packs

Emerald 100 Calorie Nut Packs come in many combinations including dry roasted almonds, natural almonds and walnuts, roasted cashews and cocoa roast. Nuts can be tricky because, while they are very healthy, eating too many results in more carbs and calories than you probably want. These perfectly portioned packs are just right.

Epic Meat Strips are a lot like jerky but come in interesting flavors such as Venison, Sea Salt and Pepper, Beef Jalapeno, and Beef Apple Bacon. Throw one of these in your purse in case a snack attack strikes while you’re out running errands.

Sugar-free Cool Whip is a necessity in my house. Before you judge, I know that it’s probably not the “healthiest” choice when it comes to whipped cream. But, to be honest, I don’t really care! With no prep needed, it contains just 15 calories and 3g of carbs for two tablespoon serving. For a really special treat, throw a container of Sugar Free Cool Whip in the freezer. A few bites of this taste remarkably like extra creamy ice cream!

Homemade Whipped Cream

It doesn’t get much better than homemade whipped cream. If you are concerned about the artificial ingredients found in Sugar-Free Cool Whip, you might consider making whipped cream from scratch. You can choose to either not use any sweetener or use Stevia Drops to sweeten it.

Berries

Berries are a great snack. If you’re following a very low carb diet such as the Keto Diet, then most fruits are off limits for the periods when you wish to stay in Ketosis. However, berries are low in sugar and can be incorporated into your healthy eating plan. Try blueberries, strawberries, raspberries or blackberries in various combinations. They’re good with a little whipped cream as well!

Dark Chocolate

What more can I say? Chocolate. Yum. Dark Chocolate is a satisfying sweet snack provided it is sweetened with Erythritol or Stevia. Try these fantastic snack sized Keto Dark Chocolate bars by Edge.

Lily’s Stevia-sweetened Chocolate Covered Almonds

Lily’s Stevia-sweetened Chocolate Covered Almonds are also a great option. Just be aware that almonds can get a little high in calories and carbs if you eat too many. Personally, I have to be careful since I could easily eat the entire bag!

Fat Snax Keto Cookies

Fat Snax Keto Cookies are super satisfying and are the perfect treat for Keto, low-carb, sugar-free, gluten-free and paleo lifestyles. Fat Snax Cookies come in Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter and Lemony Lemon.

NuTrail Keto Glazed Nuts are an amazing snack choice. I have a big weakness for glazed nuts. I used to make the full sugar version from scratch every holiday season as gifts. Atkins Endulge Treats

I love the Atkins Endulge sweet snacks! They are the perfect size and taste as good as the full sugar versions. Atkins Endulge Treats come in many varieties including Pecan Caramel Clusters, Dark Chocolate Peppermint Patties, Chocolate Coconut Bars and Peanut Butter Cups.
